✨ Hi! I'll introduce myself as Rey 😊
I’m a body art expression enthusiast and modification technician.
My professional body art journey began in 2018. I had an apprenticeship for body piercing at The Needles INN, in North Vernon, Indiana. I have always had an interest in piercing, body arts, and alternative styles. Seeing the world of tattooing from the perspective of a piercer intrigued me, but the only 2D art experience I had at that point was a 2-year vocational certificate in graphic design/ photography. I decided to give it a shot anyways; I began my tattoo journey. I had completed about 15 tattoos at that studio before making some life changes that put tattooing on the back burner.
In 2019, my past parter and I opened Good Vibrations Tattoos and Body art. I was primarily piercing, but still tattooing when feasible. I ended up taking on a piercing apprentice in 2020 so I could focus more on tattooing in the long run. By the end of 2022, I had entirely passed on the piercing responsibilities to my apprentice and graduated them.
At the beginning of 2023, I also began to pursue my interests in PMU by learning microblading, powder brow, as well as combination brow. I fully intend to keep adding to my skill set along the way.
I've really enjoyed every art I have been able to be a part of creating.
I hope to perform all of these services at Wandering Willow 🫶
I have made so much progress; I’ve made a lot of great memories and friends along the way!
I enjoy working in many styles; abstract, watercolor, and stipple styles being some personal passions. I have dabbled in almost every style and I will continue to always broaden my art horizons, indefinitely. I love working with subjects of nature, cute/kawaii, trippy, and just plain odd imagery. I’m always open to challenging myself so I want to hear all the ideas you have.
One of my favorite things about being a cosmetic body modification artist is giving people a piece of me that they can wear for the rest of their lives. I also find mass amounts of fufillment by empowering others, and helping them to love their physical canvases. The connections and friendships I have made and continue to make as an artist are super important to me~I’m excited for the years to come!
FUN FACTS: I had to grow up very quickly, being the eldest of four siblings and a teen mom, but I wouldn’t change my experiences for the world. I’m so grateful for my family and the support they’ve given throughout my journey. My son, Eli, and my Olde English Bulldogge, Zoro, never cease to make me smile at the end of a long day.
My siblings and close friends are here for me always. I love my support system!
